Jim Haynes and Sunday Dinner

"I've always seen the connection between good food, intellectual ideas, and people meeting." (21:37)

Welcome to the first episode of Season 3! This week Rebecca and Kelsey discuss this season's theme, culinary tourism, and how it is an example of citizen to citizen diplomacy as well as nation branding. Our guest, JIM HAYNES, has been featured in numerous news outlets including The New York Times, The Guardian, and Lonely Plant for his events that connect people through food. Once known most for his groundbreaking paperback book store in Edinburgh and his involvement in the arts, Jim stars in a new documentary, Meeting Jim, featuring his 40-year tradition of hosting Sunday dinner in his Paris house for strangers and friends alike.
